RV damage is not car damage

A motorhome is a house on a truck chassis, and it fails differently than a car. The most common jobs we see:

Sidewall swipes. A misjudged campsite pull-through or a lane drift leaves a long scrape across laminated fiberglass panels. The damage often looks cosmetic but can separate the outer skin from the substructure.
Roof and clearance strikes. Air conditioners, vent caps, and front cap edges take the hit when a low branch or overhang gets misread. These repairs are as much about sealing as they are about appearance.
Awning and trim tear-offs. Wind or a tight turn pulls the awning rail, and with it a strip of sidewall skin and sealant.
Backing damage. Rear caps, ladders, and compartment doors, usually from a hitch, post, or another camper.

Fiberglass, gelcoat, and lamination

Most modern coaches are fiberglass over a laminated wall. Repairing that means grinding back to sound material, rebuilding layer by layer, fairing the surface, and refinishing so the repair disappears into a panel that might be thirty feet long. Filler smeared over a crack will print through within a season. We do genuine fiberglass layup and gelcoat correction, the same craft our shop applies to buses and commercial bodies, and it is a skill set very different from steel panel work.

Water is the real enemy

Every opened seam on an RV is a future leak if it is closed carelessly. When we repair a wall or roof section we restore the sealant lines around every window, marker light, and molding we touched, because a repair that lets water into the lamination will delaminate the wall long after the paint looks fine. That attention is part of the repair, not an extra.

Refinishing at coach scale

Large single-color fields and full-body graphics both hide nothing. Our spray environment and color process handle panels at coach scale, and we blend so the transition between new and original finish cannot be picked out in sunlight.

Insurance and your RV claim

RV policies differ from car policies, and adjusters see far fewer coach claims than car claims. We document the lamination and seal work thoroughly so the estimate reflects what a correct RV repair actually involves, and we communicate with your carrier throughout.
