Paintless dent removal puts metal back where it belongs without refinishing the panel. When the damage qualifies, it is faster and cheaper than conventional auto body repair, and the result is better because the factory finish is never disturbed.

The test that decides it

Look at the low point of the dent. If the paint is unbroken and only the metal has moved, the panel is a candidate. If the finish is cracked, chipped, or gone to primer, no amount of shaping will restore it and the area needs conventional repair and refinishing.

How it works

Access is gained behind the panel, through a window channel, a lamp opening, or a liner that can be dropped, and the metal is pushed back in small increments while a reflected line is read across the surface. It comes back gradually rather than in one motion.

Access is also the limiting factor. Bracing, double walls, and factory foam can put a dent beyond reach even when it looks simple from outside.

What it does not
