Frame Work in Galloway, New Jersey

1 min read

Structural work at our auto body shop runs on a heavy-duty frame machine with computerized measuring, and it happens before panels go on rather than after.

Order of operations

This is the part people get wrong. A new quarter panel fitted to a structure that is still out of specification will never sit right, and no amount of adjusting at the gaps will fix it.

So the sequence is fixed: anchor the vehicle, measure against factory data, correct the structure, verify the readings, and only then fit panels. On a recent quarter panel replacement that order is exactly what produced the alignment the owner noticed when she collected it.

What measuring actually tells you

Reference points across the underbody get compared to the manufacturer's published dimensions, producing deviations in millimeters at every control point. A vehicle can drive down the Parkway acceptably and close all its doors while sitting far enough out to change how it manages a second impact.

Corrosion protection is part of structural work

Any time we cut and weld, the protective coating in that area is destroyed. It gets reapplied inside the joint before the section is closed, where nobody will ever see it. Leaving that step out is undetectable at handover and is the reason repairs fail from the inside years later.

Heavy vehicles too

We hold a heavy endorsement, so structural work is not limited to cars. Class A motorhomes, transit buses, box trucks, and commercial fleet vehicles come through the same shop.

Have it measured

If your vehicle was in anything more than a light impact, particularly if an airbag deployed, call (609) 404-9200. Structural work here carries our lifetime warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.
